As a wise person once said

> You either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain

Sam Altman has made the full character arc

yeah sorry, that is a statement about leadership and responsibility to make the "tough decisions", like going to war, or deciding who the winners and losers are when deciding a budget that everyone contributed to via taxes. NOT a statement meant to whitewash VC playbooks.

No... it's a line from a terrific movie called The Dark Knight, and it's about the ease with which public perception is manipulated.

This has nothing to do with perception being manipulated

No, that line is specifically about Julius Caesar being appointed by the Senate as dictator and then never giving up his power.

Though I agree it seems to fit here. Being granted an oligopoly in the name of protecting the people and all that.

Source? I'm going to need a receipt for my downvote!

Here's mine: https://movies.stackexchange.com/questions/10572/is-this-quo...

I’ve seen the movie, and it’s in response to Rachel saying “the last dictator they appointed was named Caesar, and he never gave up his power.”

I also didn’t downvote you, and it’s against guidelines to bring that stuff up
