You are assuming that AI will always be "open" and accessible to anyone.

I do, because I don't see why it wouldn't be. If it's revolutionary and a lot of people need it, or if it change completely the way people work/live/are entertained, it will certainly evolve to be as much accessible as possible. A succesful product is a product used by many.

If it's not, why worry about it ?

Because of how capitalism works and people always try to corner markets, extract value from other people, etc. etc.?

Because we can choose different professions that are less susceptible to automation? Or we can study DL to implement our own AI.

What are those? It seems it's low-margin, physical work that's seeing the least AI progress. Like berry picking. Maybe also work that will be kept AI-free longer by regulators like being a judge?

Perhaps surgery. Or cooking.

I mean, nuclear bombs are not free and available to anyone, yet quite a few people on this planet are involved in worrying about them.

If the demand is high, so will the price. And for AI, data is everything. And data is the domain of the biggest companies.

I was gonna link to this robot (https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/worlds-first-roboti...) as a reason cooking is "in danger". Seems like it cannot do the harder motor skills like chopping ingredients. In another video it makes a steak and the cooking time seems to be determined by how incredibly slow the robot is. It also makes a huge mess because it has worse motor skills than a toddler. Cooks seem safe for now. Too bad it's already a terrible area to work in because too many people love it.
