Apple's ad had a woman dressed like a Hooter's waitress to represent themselves. That makes themselves the focus of attention.

That's a pretty weird take. Her costume is typical of track and field athletes of the time, except that her jersey represents the nation of the Apple Macintosh, which you can barely notice in the ad because it flashes by in a split second.
