If work can meaningfully be done by a machine, why should we be fighting against that? For jobs? If life is all about doing pointless work a machine can do, we've got problems as a species.

The problem is capitalism not LLMs. Fighting against this progress just leaves us stagnant as a species.

Perhaps AI will lead to the revolution where automation frees the average person from having to toil in a factory or a cubical farm instead of trying to achieve infinite growth in a closed system.

Anti-capitalist revolutions of the past all relied on a strong workers’ movements. Revolutions don’t make themselves. If you believe the answer is replacing capitalism then I think the best place to start is labor organizing. A general strike carries with it a great deal of power that doesn’t rely on politicians bought and sold by corporations. I think labor organizing as a strategy is something that people who want either reform or revolution should agree on.

Now, it’s also true that military force can make a revolution happen. But looking at developed countries I don’t see anti-capitalist military revolutions happening any time soon.
