FWIW, Musk's named lead counsel Morgan Chu is an extremely high-powered lawyer, one of the best-regarded IP trial lawyers around. (Decades ago we had a client in common.) One of his brothers is Dr. Steven Chu, Nobel laureate in physics and former Secretary of Energy.
