I'm Jan, I've been CTO for 18 or so months now and I've been doing a pretty good job or so I'm told. Prior to this job I was SRE, focused primarily with always online AAA games. I'm well regarded for my trustworthiness, transparency and integrity. I have a fatal flaw though which is that I am not very good in low-trust environments. I have a strong passion which has stayed with me for 15 years. I will do anything for any price as long as I can take pride in the products.

Examples of products that I would be proud to work on would be; GCP (ha!), Mullvad, Tailscale, AAA games (not gambling) and developer tooling (I have a deep passion for this because I like to help people).

I'd like to go back to SRE, or if I am a manager I would like to be hands on, the human element is something I seem to be good at as long as I can take responsibility but that's not something most companies would permit me to do outside of the C-Level and it has been 18 months of 14h days (even weekends) and no vacation. So I'm ready to leave that behind for those reasons.
