Well there you go. I suppose the takeaway for anyone using OpenAI products is that they should have a backup, even if it doesn’t perform as well. The board was apparently fine with shutting the whole thing in the name of safety. With that plus the GPT outage earlier today, you’d do well to have a Claude or LLaMa fallback you can switch to if it happens again.
