I don't even understand what Sam brings to the table. Leadership? He doesn't seem great at leading an engineering or research department, he doesn't seem like an insightful visionary... At best, Satya gunning for him signalled continued strong investment in the space. Yet the majority of the company wanted to leave with him.
What am I missing?
Under Sam's leadership they've opened up a new field of software. Most of the company threatened to leave if he didn't return. That's incredible leadership.
