Just like yesterday Sam 100% lied to the board and was on the outs. Today, it's 100% the board is getting fired and Sam is coming back on a white horse wearing shining armor.

Exactly my thoughts and the ex analogy; it would be extremely awkward for everybody as this event has tainted everyone's reputation at OpenAI. I'd think even MS may want to get out of the deal.
