I think the phrasing to the parent you replied to is perfect. "Aligns" is correct. IT doesn't really say which direction information flowed. Anyway, it is interesting how tech journalists get so deeply embedded in issues. She does seem to be pretty legitimate.

authentication means finding a 2nd source. This reddit comment could be primary, armed with that it's not hard for Kara to find somebody inside to say "yes, accurate." That is real journalism.
