AI, specifically ChatGPT is the first thing since maybe my Google/Stackoverflow that has fundamentally changed my day as a developer.

It's a constant conversation now, with ChatGPT, over hard problems. The AI doesn't always get it right, but it's a great partner, with so many great suggestions.

I cannot imagine going back.

ChatGPT is my goto destination for tech questions now. It's (mostly) far more efficient than Google and I can actually have a (limited) conversation with it, rather than arguing with StackOverflow mods.

Similarly with IRC. ChatGPT responds, IRC is hit or miss.

It's an imperfect discussion, and can always lead to weird rabbit holes and dead ends, but it sure feels more efficient than the alternatives.
