Some would argue that rear cameras, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, automatic braking, lane departure warnings and blind spot monitoring are just an unnecessary crutch that will break down, be expensive to fix, or even dangerously malfunction.

All those things are features that are non-critical to the vehicle's functionality, and manufacturers are competent enough to design and assemble those components to fail gracefully so that the car will continue to run.
