It's not necessarily the developers fault here. One of the reasons I stopped being a professional developer is I like writing beautiful or well crafted code. Very few businesses will afford you that luxury. I enjoy the code I write in my own time.

Infosec. That isn't about craftsmanship either, but does bring together technical and people skills.

I get my craftsmanship fix writing code at home. Just couldn't bear doing it at work the way I had to.
