I have roughly 7-8 years of professional experience post-college in web development on both large and small teams covering front-end and backend architecture and tooling, full-stack feature development, deployment, QA and testing, and feature maintenance.
I'm very good at picking up new skills and figuring out how to solve difficult or nebulous problems. I have a lot of experience being in situations where there isn't another more expert developer within a company to go to if I can't solve a problem, and where a product feature or bug requires me to pick up a new skill or do my own research and to figure out a solution on my own; everything from answering external questions from clients about SSL certificate or encryption requirements to debugging and patching 3rd-party libraries. I tend to be a very self-motivated developer.
I would like to think that I coordinate reasonably well with product owners and feature designers while building products as well. I enjoy iterating on designs, trying things out to see what works and what doesn't work, and figuring out how to scope features in an agile way to keep projects from spiraling out of control. I've done a lot of independent/personal programming outside of traditional corporate work, and that combination of independent and professional experience has forced me to develop some understanding of the entire cycle of designing, planning, prototyping, releasing, and maintaining software. Alongside normal feature development I make a strong effort to leave teams and products in a better position and in better condition than I found them.
At this point in time I am primarily interested in experimenting with contracting and part-time work, although depending on the offer/context I'm not opposed to at least talking about full-time positions. But particularly if you have a specific problem to solve or your company needs help building out or prototyping a feature, I'd love to get in touch :)
