I'm going to rub my crystal ball and make some predictions:

- They'll demo it. It'll be unimpressive, a failed attempt at catching up.

- Nonetheless, they'll talk it up to save their share price from tanking.

- Nobody from the general public will be allowed to use it, just like Imagen.

- They'll eventually integrate it into their own products, enabling a dystopian future where every G-Mail message is read by an AI to serve more specific ads.

This is really dismal thinking. You just arnt close enough to the plot.

Think more dystopian: to make the AI more effective it'll pool everyone's conversation and begin autocompleting sentences that effectively rely on dark patterns to become a match maker, subtly moving people to divulge more and more emotional knowledge, like tapping a maple tree for sugary goodness.

With it's intimate knowledge of the social graph, it'll start manipulating individuals to engage in activities that brands pay for, culminating in the election of Donald Trump jr.

Google stopped ad targeting based on email years ago. Wouldn't surprise me if they brought it back one day though
