Bright Star Studios, a Copenhagen-based games studio (supporting full-remote work) developing Ember Sword, a groundbreaking social sandbox MMORPG game set in a community-driven PvP and PvE fantasy universe, and building out our game engine.
We're currently looking for (Senior, Principal, Lead) Game Engine Developer to help build core engine features such as rendering systems (e.g., particle systems), integrate audio solutions, implement optimizations, entirely new services for various game features, and create general infrastructure for game developers. A semi-greenfield to contribute to while working on a -soon - commercial engine.
Some technical highlights of our game/engine include: Our inhouse game engine is developed with an ECS architecture in modern C++20, and we're looking into commercializing the engine in the future Uses Emscripten and WebGL (looking into Web GPU), and runs in the browser with a loading time of under 5 seconds ImGui-based UI for the editor ~3,5MB (brotli) compressed WASM file Minimal use of third-party libraries to ensure performance and file size Quarterly code refactors to ensure a clean and enjoyable code base
