I personally opt in to see all the flagged/dead comments. I would say 1-5% of them are mysteries as to why they are dead (meaning they have been automatically killed, not killed due to other users flagging).
But then the ones that deserve to be killed/banned are so, so egregious.
It’s just unfortunate that there will always be innocent people that get roped in with automatic moderation.
Some of these are people who have been shadowbanned, you can check by looking at all their comments in their profile and if they're shadowbanned (almost) all of them will be dead.
As a former die hard member of [R]age Board for the Elites, I remember the use of the N-word being so prolific a moderator changed it to display “ice cream” with no work around. Seeing a post suddenly pop up calling somebody a stupid ice cream was hilarious.
I was a teenager in the wild days and Chan doesn’t disturb me even, I just don’t go there. Borderland Beat is real enough.
As an adult I feel that the ban hammer is an absolute necessity.
More than likely shadowbanned accounts. Some green accounts also seem to be automatically [dead] until they get couch’s, but I’m not sure the exact situations around that.
