It's not just a war on general purpose computing, it's not just the mainframe ascendant: the mainframe seems intent on taking over & coopting every computer it can.
Google's anti-rooting regime (SafetyNet) has been painful to experience. I'm not sure what's next with the new Play Integrity API but it's hard to have hope users will see wins here or anywhere.
