Ultimately people should just do what they enjoy. For some that might entail a sedentary lifestyle, staying in one's hometown, marrying younger, taking a comfortable financially secure job, and/or living a more traditional life. For others it might entail moving around or traveling more, dating around more, pursuing more nontraditional hobbies and/or work, etc. There's nothing wrong with either so long as you're being honest with yourself, just do whatever you enjoy and don't feel like you need to fit into anyone's image of what an ideal lifestyle should look like.
A lot of happiness I think is a result of not having FOMO. For some people I think they need to actually live out their fantasy to realize that it's not the end all be all (I'm that type of person). At that point you either get depressed realizing that everything you ever wanted didn't make you happy and now you don't know where to search for happiness anymore, or you realize that you're not missing out on anything and there's no light at the end of the tunnel, so might as well make the best of life now.
