I disagree quite alot with the article, mostly because it asumes that it is necesary to hate your everyday routine and it can't be altered in any way. Living everyday life can be as creative as anything else, end a vacation in this case could just be one of the goals or rewards you aim towards and not just live for it.

here i must add, that a very big realization for me was, how important traveling or vacations (taking a break etc) actually is. It is absolutely necesary to have time off, and because of it brains will have the time to reflect on its own life, determine new goals or plans for the future. It gives you a place without everyday distractions and stimuluses. I always come back with new ideas, new goals and new energy for the future. And I look forward towards this future of everyday life.

edit: I started reading comments and noticed that a lot of people wrote the same thing. I might add that travelling doesn't necessary mean going somewhere exotic. It can also be a weekend roadtrip or a train journey to the countryside, which i believe is something everyone can afford.

This resonates with me. I return from vacations with a bunch of new ideas, habits and recipes.

But like you say, everyday life at home also matters. Travelling is a bonus, not the only thing that keeps the lid on.
