I enjoy travel and transport because when on a trip between points A and B nothing can bother me or influence my trajectory. "I know I'll spend the next 5 hours on this train". This provides an oddly relaxing feeling of comfort and untouchability that is hard to get when you have many degrees of freedom available to you with many occasions of interference.
