United States Digital Service (USDS) | Senior Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and more! | Washington, DC (ONSITE required, but most of us are 100% REMOTE during COVID-19) | https://www.usds.gov/

The United States Digital Service is a team of cross-agency federal technologists who work on some of the biggest issues affecting the American people, including: streamlining immigration, helping veterans get benefits, modernizing health care, reforming hiring, improving school safety, fixing procurement, and more.

Check out our most recent impact report for examples of what you could be working on: https://www.usds.gov/resources/USDS-Impact-Report-2020.pdf

We're looking for the most empathetic, mission-driven, and tenacious technologists from all walks of life who are committed to untangling, rewiring and redesigning critical government services and have demonstrable experience tackling complex, complicated problems in the public, private, or non-profit sectors.

We're hiring for:

  * Software Engineers (Frontend, Backend, Full Stack, DevOps)
  * Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and Security Engineers
  * Product Managers
  * Data Scientists
  * Designers (Generalists, Strategists, User Researchers, Interaction Designers, Content Strategists, Design Operations, and everything in between)
  * Procurement Specialists
  * Bureaucracy Hackers
  * and more!
With regard to remote work during the pandemic, health and safety are our top priority for all employees. Everyone is currently working remotely, and we don’t have any specific timeline to return onsite yet. During this time, all new hires will start fully remote, though the expectation is they will come onsite to the DC metro area when we are able to resume normal operations. We also understand everyone’s circumstances may vary, and we will work closely with each person to make sure their transition works best for them

Come join us in shifting government tech in the right direction -- no prior government experience required!

And if anyone has any questions about the US Digital Service, please ask!

It's a really remarkable window of time right now to make government work better for the public using technology and design.

For data science, we've seen things from looking at disability claims appeals of Veterans and how those are handled, to looking for anomalies and malicious attacks on login.gov, to looking at Medicare payments and how to improve that process.

The data that the government has is often smaller scale than industry, but it usually represents people who are genuinely in need of help.

I'm interested in your product manager position. https://www.linkedin.com/in/josephmdwyer/ I'm not a coder but I have managed software engineers in the past and done UI/UX design and user research/testing, customer support, technical writing, etc...

I've been a non-technical cofounder for multiple startups and co-founded two non-profit makerspaces. I currently live in Florida and would like to work remote for a dynamic and fast growing company.
