You can have the same signal routed to different display devices, and they image produced will look better/worse than the original. Compare it on a 1980s 3 lens RGB projection screen compared to a CRT compared to a modern OLED screen. Compare Google Cardboard VR headsets with a cheap plastic lens compared to the higher quality headsets.
