The self-styled tech revolutionaries of twenty years ago gained money and power and are now conservatives fighting to protect their own interests. That's not particularly novel, but the rhetorical style has certainly changed.

Actually, the vast majority of them aren't aligned with any particular ideology, which you can see from the fact that they liberally donate to representatives from both political parties. The only belief that all of them have in common is elitism, as long as the definition of "elite" includes themselves of course.

Agreed. I meant "conservative" in the small-c sense of keeping things the same (where "the same" = benefits me.)
