Good news:

- There are physical buttons (not many)

- It still supports CarPlay (somehow), and

- > The car will recognize the driver and adjust the settings accordingly. And the interior displays can be configured to as much — or as little — information as desired.

However, the speedometer and other critical info will also be driven by this Android system. Hope it doesn’t “crash”

Yeah, I’m not averse to things like critical information being on a screen, but the software powering that screen needs to be ridiculously stable and well-built, which is unfortunately unlikely as long as big car companies continue to contract out dash/infotainment software rather than develop it in-house.
