Sutskever’s coup went about as well as Prigozhin‘s coup.

I think Prigozhin's coup went slightly worse for Prigozhin.

too early to tell, but likely it would be counterproductive to actually assassinate sutskever anytime in the next year

It would be a reasonably long list of suspects, even so this isn't such a case.

They are plenty weird enough for my taste already. Seriously. What an incredibly turbulent 15 years it has been. So far. And it may well get a lot more turbulent still.

oh yeah. remember what i wrote about this 7 years ago https://dercuano.github.io/notes/wwiii-genesis.html and that was before agi, spacex, the unfolding of brexit, the us huawei sanctions, or the solar energy explosion

not that those are necessarily bad in all ways but they sure do contribute to unpredictability

COVID, Ukraine, financial crisis, climate...

the climate thing is pretty important but at this point manageable

financial crises come and go; the one 15 years ago was interesting but not, as it turned out, a second great depression

ukraine was one of the major topics of the note i linked, though not explicitly mentioned

covid i'm not sure about. you would expect 6.98 million confirmed deaths (and several times that many total deaths) to have a cultural impact like aids or the holocaust, but if it has, i am not sure exactly what that impact is. i don't even see people wearing face masks on the bus when they have a cold, which is sort of the minimum i was hoping for
