This very site is the closest implementation I’ve seen to what he described in the article. Moderation actions that are still visible for those who opt in.

I personally opt in to see all the flagged/dead comments. I would say 1-5% of them are mysteries as to why they are dead (meaning they have been automatically killed, not killed due to other users flagging).

But then the ones that deserve to be killed/banned are so, so egregious.

It’s just unfortunate that there will always be innocent people that get roped in with automatic moderation.

More than likely shadowbanned accounts. Some green accounts also seem to be automatically [dead] until they get couch’s, but I’m not sure the exact situations around that.
