Security and safety here seems to be mixture of technocratic naivety and PR. Like there was "don't be evil".

I can't know but I assume this is the reason why they got rid of Sam. When I listened to him talking, I didn't believe he took security serious. I assume his board colleagues also noticed this based on him pushing for new releases and maybe other things.
