There are some interesting ideas here, but it leaves the actual problem unaddressed. Lots of people are instinctually drawn toward the "edgy" because of a very human instinct to seek secret knowledge. This completely overrides the part of the brain that asks, "Is it good for me or for society that I immerse myself in this environment?". We as a society have yet to find a good way to mitigate this "consumer of secret knowledge" cachet, which on the internet has created a conspiracy theory flywheel.

Any way to use big data to give a quick win on breaking out of the negative synergy that the negative flywheel causes?
