I must say I really like the MacOS idea, that every app has it’s own folder. I think that apps scattered through filesystem are not a good idea at all. Maybe they should symlink executables to /bin and shared libraries to /lib. Also everything that is needed to boot should probably be in a sealed readonly filesystem or binary anyway. I think we have made a mess with unix filesystem stricture and it really needs to be simplified.
